About This Product
Mayan worry dolls, also known as "muñecas quitapenas," are small, handcrafted figures originating from the highland villages of Guatemala. Traditionally made from wire, wool, and colorful textiles, these tiny dolls are rooted in Mayan legend, which tells of a princess who received a special gift from the sun god to solve people’s problems. According to custom, a person tells their worries to the dolls before placing them under their pillow at night; by morning, the dolls are believed to have taken the worries away. Often used as tools for comfort and emotional expression, worry dolls are cherished both as cultural artifacts and symbols of gentle, healing tradition.
