Your Holiday Questions Answered đŸŽ…đŸœ

Are you hearing sleigh bells yet?

Christmas is just 6 days away, and we’re making our final preparations

✅ Fair-trade chocolate for Santa

✅ JOYN stockings hung with care

✅ Presents under the tree

But in the midst of our preparations, we’ve been getting a lot of questions about our holiday hours and policies. So, we thought we'd take a minute from decking the halls to answer the ones we were getting asked most often.

Holiday FAQs

  1. What are your holiday hours?

This week, our retail store in Madison is open from 11am-5pm every single day through this Saturday, December 23. We’ll be closed Sunday, December 24, through Monday, January 1. We will reopen with our standard hours on Tuesday, January 2.

  1. What’s your return policy?

Normally, we have a 30-day return policy. Because we will be closed for 2 weeks over the holidays, you will have 45 days to return any purchases. Gifts can be returned for store credit. For more information, including fees, please see our return policy. If you’re local, items can be returned in store without charge.

  1. What’s the shipping situation?

This week only, we are offering a free upgrade to 2-day shipping. That means that if you order by 4pm TOMORROW, you can still receive your purchase by Christmas! Because we’ll be closed from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day, any orders placed online during that time will be fulfilled (and shipped) on Tuesday, January 2. That means you have to place your order by Saturday to receive it before 2024.

  1. What if I’m local? Can I come pick up my order?

If you live in the Madison, Wisconsin, area, we can personally deliver your order (if it’s $45 or more). Alternatively, you can pick up your purchases in-store during our business hours or using our 24-hour contactless pickup option.

  1. Help! I’m behind on my Christmas shopping, and I don’t know what to get!

Don’t worry. We’ve got lots of items on our website and in-store that ship quickly and easily. For something practical, we recommend checking out our Dinadi collection of Merino wool scarves, hats, and mittens. For stocking stuffers, ornaments and chocolate are always two favorites. We especially love Pacari, Tony’s Chocolonely, and Singing Rooster, the latter of which also makes Haitian metalwork ornaments.

Otherwise, you can also visit us in-person on Friday or Saturday where we’ll be running a bargain basement for last-minute gifts. Some items will be 50-75% off! đŸ€Ż

Wherever you’re at with your holiday preparations, we’re here for you. Reply to this email if you have any questions, or come visit us in person to peruse the fair-trade gifts we have in stock.

(We even have flannel and stickers!)

But remember, gathering with friends and family is really what this season is really all about. That’s why we’re doing this gift-giving stuff in the first place. 😉

Yuletide wishes,

James @ Ethical Trade Co.
