Paper High was born from a love of travel, with a particular fondness for Asia. In 1998, a planned year-long trip turned into a three-year journey that led to a life-changing experience in Kathmandu. There, a chance encounter with a paper maker inspired the idea for a new business. Returning to the UK with two boxes of handmade journals and photo albums, Paper High began at Camden Market, where the unique, handcrafted products quickly gained popularity. As the business grew, further travels brought connections with Fair Trade suppliers in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, including an elephant dung paper producer. Today, Paper High is a sustainable giftware business committed to Fair Trade practices and giving back to the communities that craft their products.

Our beautifully handmade and embossed leather journals are ideal for the passionate writer in your life, give them an inspirational gift that they will cherish. Handmade, eco-friendly and Fair Trade, this leather journal is the perfect way to note down all of your thoughts and it also makes a positive difference to the communities who make them. Each journal contains approx. 125 pages of unlined khadda paper; khadda is recycled cotton that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. The paper is made by a charity that promotes women's development in rural areas of Rajasthan, India. The embossing has been applied with love, care, and individual small handmade tools, making each journal unique. Available simply embossed or with stitching along the edge of the journal. As each journal is handmade using traditional tools, the design may vary slightly. Dimensions: 16 x 11 cm

Preorder makes items available to you even if they are temporarily out of stock at our online fulfillment center. As soon as you submit your preorder we ask our artisans to ship your items to us. We usually receive the items within 3-7 business days. As soon as they arrive we send them to you. So your preorder should get to you in approximately 10-14 business days. Occasionally preorder items have to be shipped to us from overseas which makes the wait a little longer.
Ukrainian stoneware is handmade to order in Ukraine and as such takers 8-12 weeks to arrive.
