JeevanKala products are handcrafted by artisans from the remote Himalayan mountain villages of Lapa, Tipling and Shertung. Most of the artisans are single mothers, widows, and individuals with disabilities. Many of these people are considered “ untouchables” (the lowest tier of the caste system throughout Nepal and India). More than 1,000 artisans have received training and employment opportunities through JeevanKala, which developed out of Himalayan HealthCare. Himalayan HealthCare is a nonprofit 501(c)3 charitable organization that has been in Nepal for 25 years. They help provide sustainable wages, health care, and education programs.

From the Foundation
"Himalayan HealthCare continues to provide much needed relief and recovery services to rural Nepal following the earthquakes that devastated our villages in the spring of 2015. Please help us provide clean drinking water, safe learning environments and other support to the people of Nepal. Every dollar counts."
